Elswhere on Etsy, and just in time for Halloween, the crafty site’s shoppers might stumble across “ZOMBIES, eat flesh” apparel, a play on popular sandwich franchise Subway’s slogan: “SUBWAY, eat fresh.” The seller is event mimicking Subway’s trademarked design with outward arrows, font and colors. It seems like Subway is letting this one slide for now. Could it be that they are swamped with removing the millions of false TM notices? If Subway does take action, its first step would be to notify Etsy of any alleged trademark violations (and then run for its life—because, Zombies).
